About paraply

 

Hi! I'm Lily (by nickname) or Maren, freelance illustrator and graphic designer. I love to draw colourful and cute things, like to invent my own characters and am a huge paper and stationary enthusiast! That's why I put all of those ingredients together and opened my own shop. I hope that the fun, care and love that I put into my illustrations can reach you as well : ) !

 

Why paraply? One of my passions are Scandinavian languages and in my Norwegian class I fell in love with the Norwegian word for umbrella  - paraply. Pronounced [pɑɾɑˈplyː], stressed on the last syllable. I'm bad at transferring this to English, but it sounds somewhat like pah-rah-PLEE, just that the "ee" actually goes into the direction of a German "ü".
